Joy Palmer, University of Manchester

Joy came to Mimas in October 2007 from the United States, where she earned her Ph. D.  She originally worked as a Lecturer in English and Cultural Studies at Michigan State University, but in 2000 she became Senior Projects Manager at the University's Matrix, an internationally recognised research and development Centre in the Digital Humanities (http://matrix.msu.edu).  Here her primary responsibilities were to contribute to research and development and oversee all project management.  She also coordinated several of the Centre's broader-scale digital library and web development initiatives funded through the NEH, NSF and other foundations.  At Mimas, Joy is responsible for overseeing the strategic development of Copac and the Archives Hub.
