Ann Östman

Library Developer
Region Gävleborg, Sweden

Ann Östman: I am a library developer at Kulturutveckling, Region Gävleborg in Sweden. I strongly believe in the value of the public library and the broad possibility it offers – for free – to each and every one who enters it, be it physically or virtually.

My focus is on IT- and media development, and at the moment I have the main responibilty in the region for implementing a three year long  government effort to improve public librarian digital skills  through “Digital first” , where the government allocates 25 million Swedish crowns/year to set up educational  structures on a national scale.

Anna-Karin Ferm:

I am a cultural developer for world heritage and culture at Kulturutveckling, Region Gävleborg in Sweden. My main task is Swedens latest World Heritage site; Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland. I am the regional contact with national and international networks. I am also working in a regional project för the Euroean Year of cultural heritage 2018.

The European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018 is about bringing light and awareness of what is happening in the context of cultural heritage. It can take the form of events, lectures and exhibitions. Special efforts are being made to promote inclusion and to reach more and new groups of people. Bringing our world heritage; Decorated farmhouses of Hälsingland in to an virtual reality experience is a result of the project
