full bio:

Yvonne Campfens holds a MSc Econometrics degree from University of Amsterdam (1993), and is an all-round professional with vast international experience and a proven track record in general management, strategy execution and change processes in academic publishing and related service sectors.

In over 25 years, she delivered collaborative and workflow solutions, including ASA model licenses (1999), and the ALPSP Learned Journal Collection (2004).

Early in her career she held a publishing position at Elsevier Science and thereafter various positions at Swets Subscription Service, including in publisher relations. In 2007 she joined Springer, to oversee the transfer process of (society) journals coming to Springer (i.c. integration management), as well as various publishing operations processes, projects and tools (e.g. the journals pricelist). Together with other industry stakeholders, she founded the TRANSFER Code of Practice, a collaborative project to improve (society) journal transfers between publishers. After running the Dutch language educational/professional business at Springer Media for three years as Managing Director, she returned to the international research group of the newly merged company (Springer Nature) in 2015, where she worked across all Springer Nature research divisions.

In 2018, she started her own consultancy business, focussing on publishers, startups, investors, and other players in our changing value chain, for whom she provides solutions in management and partnerships to deliver on their strategic roadmap.
